Bloom With Me Goes Live on TV (next week)!
I’ll be joining Twin Cities Live on Tuesday, August 12th at 3 p.m. to chat about what I’ve been watching, reading, and listening to—and how it all ties into the stories I share in Bloom With Me. I’ll post a link once it airs!
Here’s a pic with TCL Host Elizabeth Ries and a link to her feature in Bloom with Me.

Velcro’s Wild Little Secret
On a walk with Maisie this week, I noticed a bee buzzing around a prickly purple flower. That plant? Burdock—and it has a hidden superpower.

Back in the 1940s, a Swiss engineer found burdock burrs clinging to his socks and his dog’s fur. Curious, he studied them under a microscope and discovered tiny hooks—and that’s how Velcro was born.
Just one more reason to look closer—the garden is full of inventions in disguise.
Q. Have you found anything surprising in your own backyard? Reply and let me know!”

In Case You Missed It: Backyard Bliss on the MN Water Garden Tour
Recently, I wandered through waterfalls, koi ponds, and lily-covered pools during the Minnesota Water Garden Society Tour—and I’m still feeling calm.
If you missed it, I brought back a few snapshots of serenity in full bloom. These hidden backyard oases prove you don’t have to go far to find a moment of peace.
Q. Do you have any Backyard Bliss moments you want to share? I’d love to see them.
